Everyone at Suncoast Basset Rescue is a Volunteer.
Volunteers come in all types — foster homes, hound transport, events, home visits, public outreach, and fundraising. There’s a place for everyone who loves basset hounds and wants to make a difference.
Ways to Help
Transport
Transport volunteers move foster bassets from one part of Florida to another — connecting hounds with the foster or adoptive home that’s right for them. If you love a road trip and a slobbery passenger, this one’s for you.
Home Visits
As part of the adopter approval process, a home visit volunteer visits the prospective family to get the lay of the land. You’ll be provided with a Home Visit Form to guide the conversation — it’s a crucial step in finding each hound their perfect forever home.
Events
From November through April, SBR participates in community events across FL to raise awareness of our services. In addition, we hold special events throughout the year to raise much-needed funds. Volunteers staff our information booths, and organize our special events…and have fun doing it!

We are always in need of volunteers. Whether you can do an in-person home visit, have a reliable car, or can spend a few hours at an event — there’s a way for you to help the basset hounds of Florida. And that special someone who helps out anywhere, with anything? We especially love that person.
