Second Chance Sustainer Program
Second Chance Sustainers is Suncoast Basset Rescue’s monthly giving program, providing reliable funding for the ongoing medical needs of every dog we take in—from initial intake through adoption, and for our Forever Foster hounds who remain in our care for life.
Most of our hounds are lucky enough to find their forever homes — but some need a different kind of forever. These are our Forever Fosters — special hounds who, due to age, medical needs, or behavioral challenges, will never be adopted but instead remain in loving foster homes for the rest of their lives. Your monthly sponsorship will help cover the cost of ongoing medical care, prescription diets, and all the love they need to thrive in their permanent foster homes.
We can’t change their past — but you can give them a second chance at a beautiful forever.
SBR Basset Boutique
Proceeds from all purchases made at the SBR Basset Boutique go towards medical and other expenses incurred in connection with rescuing and rehoming FL bassets in need. SBR’s average cost per rescued hound in 2025 was $1,285, and we rescued 100 hounds! Support bassets – buy basset merch!

Donate a Car to SBR
Donate your car, boat, truck, RV, Jet Ski, or snowmobile and you may be eligible for a tax deduction. Our fundraising partner CARS (a 501(c)(3) organization) makes it simple — donate online or call (855) 500-7433 to get started.
IRA Charitable Distribution
A Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) allows individuals aged 70½ or older to donate up to $111,000 in 2026 from their IRA directly to a qualified charity — potentially avoiding taxes and satisfying RMD requirements. Donor Advised Fund Grant
Do you have a Donor Advised Fund? Recommend a one-time or recurring grant to SBR or name us as a beneficiary. We’re registered with Fidelity Charitable, Vanguard Charitable, and many FL community foundations. Email info@suncoastbassetrescue.org with questions.
