Paddles & Paws 2025
On Saturday, May 17, 2025, 14 intrepid kayakers ventured forth in search of adventure and fun, all in support of Suncoast Basset Rescue!
The morning paddle, led by Kayak Eco Tours‘ Steve Burroughs, was a terrific success. Participants enjoyed a beautiful morning on the Peace River in Arcadia, polished their paddling skills, and spotted lots of wildlife.
After the 2-hour tour, paddlers rejoined the land crew at the Deep Creek Pavilion and enjoyed two- and four-legged company. Approximately 30 supporters snacked on sandwiches, loved on some adorable basset hounds, and tried their luck at a couple of raffles.
Every Forever Foster Sponsored! $4,454 raised.
At the time of the event, there were 13 dogs in SBR’s Forever Foster Guardian Program — all of whom were either diagnosed with a serious medical condition or challenging behavioral issue. We are delighted to announce that ALL of our Forever Fosters were sponsored and represented by a kayak at the event. We’ll do it again soon!
