The Artful Hound
The Artful Hound is one of SBR’s biannual fundraising events — a unique celebration combining art, community, and basset hounds. Artists purchase a plain basset hound template, transform it into an original work of art, and the completed hounds are auctioned off at a festive brunch event.
Every penny raised goes directly to supporting SBR’s rescue and rehabilitation work. It’s a one-of-a-kind event that brings out the creativity and generosity of our community — and produces some truly spectacular art!
The inaugural Artful Hound event took place in fall 2025. We’ll be back in 2027 with more inspired basset creations. Get inspired by looking at the amazing basset artwork created by our 2025 artists!
