Rusty is a very handsome, sweet, and surprisingly spunky 15-year-old gentleman who proudly holds the title of one of SBR’s forever foster dogs. Don’t let his age fool you—this senior still has plenty of pep in his step and enjoys keeping life interesting!
Rusty does have a few quirks (don’t we all?), including allergies that require special prescription food and routine allergy shots. He also prefers that his meals remain his meals—he’s a firm believer in “no sharing,” thank you very much. Thankfully, his longtime foster family knows him like the back of their hand and does an amazing job making sure all of his needs (and boundaries!) are respected.
Having been with his foster family for many years, Rusty is exactly where he belongs. He has claimed his spot, settled into his routine, and made it very clear that he’s already home. As a forever foster, Suncoast Basset Rescue will continue to cover all of Rusty’s medical care, ensuring he can enjoy his golden years surrounded by the people who love him most.
At the end of the day, Rusty is living his best life—on his terms, of course—and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
