Peach

Meet Peach! She is a beautiful 4-year-old girl with a heart as sweet as her name. Her journey to SBR has been a winding one, but through it all she has remained a loving, social, and happy companion. Peach first found herself in an unexpected situation when she became separated from her original family. After being found wandering in a neighborhood, she was reunited with her owners, who unfortunately were no longer able to keep her due to an upcoming move. Peach ended up in the care of a kind-hearted Good Samaritan. What was supposed to be a short stay turned into a longer commitment. Peach’s Good Samaritan did everything he could to help Peach find a new home, but quickly learned that responsible rehoming isn’t always easy. After several unsuccessful attempts, he reached out to SBR for help.

Peach has weighed nearly 65 pounds but with healthier diet, plenty of exercise, and lots of daily walks, she has slimmed down to a much healthier weight of about 55 pounds. She was recently diagnosed as heartworm positive and has begun the slow-kill method of treatment. Peach is an outgoing and affectionate girl who loves spending time with people. She enjoys long walks, trips to the dog park, and being part of the action. Like many bassets, she prefers companionship and doesn’t enjoy being left alone for extended periods. She is housetrained and has spent her life as a beloved family dog.

Whether she’s strolling through the neighborhood, making friends at the dog park, or simply spending time with her people, Peach is happiest when she’s included in the fun and surrounded by those she loves.
