Meet Nella! Nella is a stunning 1-year-old red and white basset hound with a sweet personality and lots of love to give. This young girl came to Suncoast Basset Rescue when her family felt she wasn’t the right fit for their household. They had hoped Nella would be a companion for their senior basset, but unfortunately the older dog wasn’t interested in having a younger playmate around. Nella is house-trained, crate-trained, and enjoys having a cozy space of her own. She sleeps comfortably in her crate at night and settles in well. While she can be a little shy when meeting new people, she warms up quickly once she feels comfortable and is eager to make friends. Nella enjoys spending time outdoors in a fenced yard and walks nicely on a leash. She’s also reported to do well with children and has lived with a family that included four kids. She has been around other dogs, though we’ll continue learning more about her preferences as she settles into foster care. At approximately 50 pounds, Nella is a healthy-sized young basset with plenty of energy and affection to share.
