Lucy is what her foster dad lovingly calls a “tiny basset,” weighing in at just 25 pounds. What she lacks in size, she more than makes up for in sweetness. She absolutely loves to snuggle and soak up all the affection she can get.
In the past, Lucy had her tail amputated due to a large cancerous growth at the base. Thankfully, her veterinarian was able to remove all of the cancer. She does still deal with some ongoing medical needs, including itchy skin and occasional ear troubles, but she is very well cared for and closely monitored.
Lucy is living her best life with her devoted foster dad, who takes wonderful care of her. Because of her medical needs, Lucy will remain with him as a forever foster, where she is safe, loved, and comfortable. Suncoast Basset Rescue will continue to provide for all of her medical care for the rest of her life.
This little lady may be small, a bit hard of hearing, and a senior—but she is full of love and living proof that every dog deserves a happy, secure place to call home.
