Gus

Gus has officially become a forever foster. He will spend the rest of his days with a loving volunteer, while the rescue provides for all of his medical needs to ensure he’s comfortable and well cared for. 15-year-old Gus has the soulful eyes and gentle spirit of a dog who’s lived a long, full life. His foster mom thinks he may be part basset and part labrador—he’s got the heart and charm of both. Gus spent the last 8–9 years with a family who loved him deeply, but due to a divorce and upcoming move, they could no longer keep him. Like many senior dogs, Gus found himself in a tough situation—but thankfully, SBR was there to step in and give him the second chance he deserves. Despite everything, Gus is incredibly sweet. He loves being brushed, soaking up affection, and just quietly being near his people. He’s a calm, loving soul who’s content to lay in the sun and feel safe. As a forever foster, Gus will remain under the care and support of Suncoast Basset Rescue for the rest of his life. We’re committed to giving this special boy the comfort, care, and dignity he deserves.
