Meet Coltrane! We aren’t exactly sure how old this lovely girl is – our best guess is somewhere around 4 to 5 years old. Coltrane’s journey began about three years ago when she was found wandering. Despite efforts to locate her family, no one ever came forward to claim her, so she stayed with the kind family that found her. Unfortunately, Coltrane spent those years living primarily outdoors with little veterinary care.
When she arrived at Suncoast Basset Rescue, our first priority was addressing her medical needs. Coltrane tested heartworm positive and has already begun treatment. She’s currently enjoying the comforts of indoor life while recovering from her spay surgery-and she’s making up for lost time!
Coltrane is living with a basset brother and sister in her foster home and gets along wonderfully with other dogs. She adores people and, in her previous home, was actually more intimidated by the cat and baby than they were by her. This sweet girl has a gentle, easygoing personality. She’s happiest observing the world around her rather than stirring up trouble. As she becomes more comfortable, her goofy side starts to shine through, revealing a loyal and affectionate companion who loves being part of the family.
She has so much love to give and is looking for a forever family that will give her the care, comfort, and security she deserves.all she has remained a loving, social, and happy companion.
