Meet Anchor, a 6-year-old basset mix with a gentle heart and the playful spirit of a puppy. This sweet boy loves being close to his people and is happiest when he’s part of the action. He’s potty trained, gets along wonderfully with other dogs, and is definitely not the “boss” of the pack. Anchor enjoys barking at cats from time to time, though he has never shown any desire to hurt them. Still, he would probably do best in a home without cats, simply to keep the peace for everyone involved. One of Anchor’s favorite hobbies is running the “Basset 500” around the backyard. Zooming around outside brings him so much joy, and he would thrive in a home with a fenced yard where he can continue perfecting his racing skills. When Anchor first came to SBR, his skin was in very rough shape. Thanks to the dedication and hard work of his foster mom, his skin has healed beautifully and his hair is growing back in nicely. Through it all, Anchor has remained a loving, sweet-natured boy who is impossible not to adore. Anchor would do best in a home with other playful dogs and a family willing to help him continue living his very best life. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion with a fun-loving personality, Anchor may just be your perfect match.
