Shilo ATB
Hello, my name is Michelle Stephens-- I adopted a basset from you
all at the end of October last year - her name was Shilo Stephens.
I just want to inform you that she pasted away this morning -- she
became very sick and the seizure were getting worse.  It was decided
by the family and the vet  to lay her to rest this morning.. I just
wanted to let you all know that she was a blessing to our family for
the short time that we had her and would not have changed a thing.
I'm just sorry that we did not have more time with her.  If you
could pass this on to her foster mom, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thank you again for letting us adopt Shilo and being part of our
family.

Sincerely

Michelle Stephens and Family

Minnie ATB
Minnie the Mooch as we affectionately called her was one of the sweetest and most endearing hounds I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. She was a gentle and loving hound that desperately needed lots of love and attention from her special humans. She had the biggest ears we had ever seen so we use to tell her she reminded us of the flying nun. You could pet Minnie until you knew you arm was going to fall off but when you quit she would take her nose and nudge your arm attempting to get it back on her for more petting. We fostered Minnie for several wonderful months and grew to love her so much. But the time finally arrived for Minnie to leave us and go to her very special forever home with her special forever Dad. We were sad to say good-by to Minnie but happy for her becasue she now had her own special home and a new Dad that loved her very much. Sadly Minnie was only there a few days until it was time for her to make her journey to the Rainbow Bridge.
Rest in peace Sweet Minnie. If only I could hug you one more time and feel your wet nose under my arm for some more belly rubs and pets. We will always love you and will always have a special place in our hearts for you. And one day we will see you again at the Rainbow Bridge
Deeply Loved and Missed by

Bertha ATB 12/26/05
Big Hearted Bertha or Bertie Girl as we called her, was born on 5/5/93. Over the last 12 years Bertha has given her whole family nothing but unconditional love.
Whenever we were sad she was always there to kiss you into a smile. Last August Bertha began having seizures and was then diagnosed with a brain tumor.
Bertie even kissed me right after having a seizure because she could sense my broken heart. We tried everything to extend her life but we lost her on 12/26/05.
She died at home in our arms, where I know she wanted to be. We love her and miss her and will never forget the way she touched all our lives.

Lady
Lady was chosen to be a companion for Baxter, a Basset who rescued himself from some unfortunate living conditions when he was a young dog. Baxter's companion, Annie, had recently passed on at the age of 16 1/2. Lady came to us with tricky ear infections and lots of love. She had the softest coat I have ever felt for a Basset and big, light brown eyes that absorbed you. She and Baxter became fast friends. She became fast friends with everyone in the vet office as well. The same week we won the battle of the ears, a silent and deadly killer reared its ugly head. Within a few days our Lady died of lung cancer. We laid her to rest with Annie and Maddie, Bassets who passed before her.

Her foster mom adds:
I don't remember how Lady came into rescue but was happy she ended up at my house for fostering. I feel totally in love with this older girl, I thought she would stay with me, until the day I got a call that someone was interested in her. Driving up to Jax, with Lady, to meet Kay, Bob, and Baxter, I thought, all I need was one reason to not leave her, I couldn't find one. I knew she would be happy, I drove home in tears as Lady started her new life.
Lady was loved and will be deeply missed by Bob and Kay Hathaway, and foster mom, Wendie Prince

Andee ATB 1/31/06
Andee was one of the silliest older hounds we have had the privilege of sharing our lives with. Her smiles will be missed, along with her dainty, sloppy kisses.
We love you, baby girl! Pat and wen

Blossom ATB 7/6/2005
Lady Blossom was born on Nov 26, 1992. She came to us in August of 2002. She went over the bridge on July 6, 2005. We fell in love with her the moment we saw her. Blossie was one of a kind. She was the boss of everything and evryone. Sometimes I think she is still bossing Rusty around. We miss her very much. She could make you so mad at times and then all you had to do was to look at those big brown eyes and you would melt. There will never be another like her and maybe that's a good thing. But someday we will all be together.

Lola and Otis

Dear Friends,

Attached are my babies, which I had at the 2005 Waddle. They were 15 yrsa old  and siblings, and I had them in a buggy.. Many people were so kind and helpful that day, as they were so frail. I knew this would be their last big outing with me and we had a memory filled, happy day. We got photos made, laughed, cried and said good bye during the RAINBOW CEREMONY in many ways, as I know the time with my dear friends was running out.

I lost Lola to severe dementia  soon after the event, and Otis to Cushings disease 3 months ago. I want to thank everyone there for understanding and being there for me. My new rescue, Charley (5 yrs old) will be there in Feb 06.

Thank you for all you do for this wonderful, sloppy, silly, breed of dog,

Through Tears, ANNA LINVILLE
